The Center for Rural Violence and Justice Studies
The Center for Rural Violence and Justice Studies exists to support
multi-disciplinary research into the nature of criminality and societal
responses within areas of low population density, with a particular
focus on southern Illinois. The Center is committed to studying the
phenomena of crime, victimization, and justice within these areas,
including conducting research, disseminating knowledge, and informing
policy and practice. Participating faculty share a common interest and
respect in improving our understanding of, and response to,
crime-related social problems.
